The Indicator Reporting Information System (IRIS) is a national reporting system been developed by UNEP to make it easier to take stock of the environment. Those in government responsible for collecting data, indicators and reporting to MEAs as well as at the national and regional levels, can now communicate information quickly online.
UNEP Live can deploy the IRIS at the national level, connecting to different Ministries and agencies as required. This will enable the regular sharing and updating of data and indicators, which can then be used to meet many different reporting obligations. The IRIS also includes a Dashboard that enables decision-makers to access, at their finger-tips, the state and trends of the environment.
It can be connected to UNEP Live so that countries can share relevant data and indicators with UNEP audiences.
If your government/organization is interested in IRIS, contact the UNEP Live team at firstname.lastname@example.org
To see a country's reporting obligations, select a country page, click on the 'Partner Resources' tab and select 'Reporting Obligations'.
The IRIS tool has been developed with the support of Abu Dhabi Global Environmental Data Initiative (AGEDI).
